Hello, my name is Irene Wanjiru, but everyone calls me Shiru. I am 23 years old and currently living in Nairobi, Kenya.
I truly enjoy the company of children and have always been a nurturing, caring, and responsible person. I am naturally playful, creative, and patient, which makes it easy for me to connect with kids and keep them engaged in fun and meaningful activities.
Over the years, I’ve gained valuable experience looking after children, and I'm especially experienced with twins. I really enjoy creating a fun nurturing space for children I genuinely find joy in helping them learn and grow. I feel that I learn just as much from them as they do from me.
I am also a university student studying Architecture & Urban Planning, with plans to transfer to Slovak University of Technology (STU) in Bratislava in the 2026–2027 academic year. In the meantime, I’ve taken a gap year and would love to spend it in Bratislava as an au pair, immersing myself in Slovak culture, architecture, history, language and everyday life.
Living in Slovakia has been a long-time dream for me, and I would be grateful for the chance to experience family life while sharing my own culture in return and I would be so happy to support your children with care, warmth and creativity.
