Hi there! My name is Parker, and I am seeking to help out a friendly family here in El Salvador. I am originally from California, I grew up surfing, hiking, and camping before I moved to Oregon to try out the mountain life.

I am a proud auntie to five nieces and nephews, and nothing is quite as special to me as being part of their family and early formative years.

Additionally, nearly all of my work experiences have revolved around working with kids from ages 4-18. I worked in a surfing/ ocean safety class from ages 15-21, and enjoyed all the times I could spend outdoors teaching the kids about how to be safe in the natural world. Similarly, I continued this line of work in whitewater river camps in Oregon. We did overnight camps, sailing, and natural education for two summers. Beyond these physical experiences, I learned that every person is so unique and learns in vastly different ways.
I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor's in Science in TRAL (Toursim, Recreation, Adventure, Leadership). Here I was required to obtain my Wilderness First Responder medical certifaction, which has allowed me to work in many different conditions. My medical certification gives me great confidence in my solo travels abroad, and in knowing when another person needs more advanced care.
I have volunteered here in El Salvador for several months, and I am approaching fluency in Spanish. I feel very comfortable in El Zonte, but have spent time in other areas in La Libertad.
