We are so excited that you are considering joining our family!

We are Helen and Joerg, with two wonderful boys aged 7 and 10. They are very different in personality but both kind, curious, and fun. Our home is full of energy, football games, stories, and laughter.

We’ve had five au pairs before, so we know how important it is to make you feel welcome and supported. We see our au pair as a big sister to our children — someone who is smart, caring, and independent, and be part of our daily life.

Life with us means helping with the boys’ school routines, joining them in play, preparing simple meals, and keeping things tidy around the house. We also ask for your help with light chores that keep our family life running smoothly. You don’t need to worry about full housecleaning — we have support for that.

In return, you’ll have your own private space, a clear schedule with plenty of free time, weekly allowance, and our full support to enjoy your time in the Netherlands. We live in Aerdenhout, a beautiful and safe area surrounded by nature, close to the beach, Haarlem, and only 20 minutes from Amsterdam. It’s the perfect base for exploring, studying, and making friends.

We believe respect and trust go both ways. If you are responsible, caring with children, and comfortable being part of both childcare and household life, we know this can be a very rewarding experience for all of us.

We have two sweet and active boys (aged 7 and 10) with opposite personalities but both fun, well-mannered, and curious. We’ve hosted five au pairs already, so we know how to make this a good experience for everyone.

Your Role With Us

We’re looking for someone who is both caring with kids and helpful around the house. You’ll be like a big sister to our boys, and an extra pair of hands to help keep family life running smoothly.

Your main duties will include:
• Helping with morning and after-school routines (breakfast, school runs, playtime).
• Keeping the boys engaged with fun, creative, and active play (football, reading, arts & crafts).
• Preparing simple meals for the children and helping them tidy up after themselves.
• Light household chores such as laundry (mostly the kids’), keeping common areas tidy, unloading the dishwasher, and occasional errands.
• Babysitting occasionally in the evening (by agreement).

We don’t expect you to clean the whole house – we have a cleaner. But we do expect you to be hands-on with everyday household tasks that come with living in a family.
