Kathrin is German and grew up in the beautiful Southwest of the country. Michael is American with Filipino heritage, raised in California. We married in 2014 and moved to Berlin over 10 years ago for work.

Our kids, Claire and Henri, are now 3 and 6 years old; both are raised bilingual (German/English). We speak English as a family language, and Michael also speaks Tagalog very well.

We are very outgoing, friendly and quite relaxed.
We live in a "Townhouse" in the very center of Berlin, close to Rosenthaler Platz. The place is well connected with subways and trams nearby; language schools can be found in abundance.

You will have a room for yourself, and a big bathroom with shower and bathtub to share with the kids. The building is newly-built with floor heating throughout, and many other amenities.
We have a small, private garden where we’ve had many BBQ's during the summer, and a bigger community garden where the kids can play with other kids from the neighborhood.
Additionally, we have a spacious rooftop terrace with a view to the TV tower and lounge-chairs to enjoy a nice sunbath during the summer-months.

We have hosted Au-Pairs before, and can provide references. We would love to welcome a new member to our family after our current Au-Pair's contract will be finished in September. We are looking for a friendly person with experience and a love for kids.

Of course we will be able to help you with the language test and the whole visa process.

Claire attends an international kindergarten about 15 minutes away by tram or bicycle. Henri will start school in September which is just around the corner of our house. It would be great if you could help us get both kids ready in the morning, and drop both of them off at Kita/School around 9am. You would have the rest of the day off, and usually pick up Claire around 3:30pm. Henri will be in school longer most days. They enjoy going to a playground or playing in our garden, before we get together for our family dinner around 6pm.
In rare occasions, we would would ask you to also help put them to bed after dinner, but usually that's something we enjoy doing ourselves.

We do pay above average, and we will additionally provide you with a public transportation ticket which you can use for all public transport throughout Germany. You will also receive a German SIM card with Data, and we will contribute to a language class (if you would like to learn German).
