We are excited to welcome an Au Pair into our family. This will be our first Au Pair experience and while I am certain not everything will be perfect, we look forward to learning from one another and exchanging cultural experience.
We hope the Au Pair will see us like family and engage and communicate with us like family.

We prefer to have Thai Female Au Pair Since the host mother speaks Thai and understands it fluently, this will help limit the language communication barrier with the Au Pair. The Au pair has the opportunity to clearly speak in Thai or English if there is potential for misunderstanding.


Like Family, the au pair is welcome to participate with us in all our family activities that include going out on weekends, going to visit relative’s houses, friend’s houses, and some trips.
The Au Pair will be provided with an In-Law apartment that has a private entry. We would prefer that the Au Pair uses respectful, good judgement when inviting friends and visitors as well as overnight guests.

The Au Pair can suggest independent time, such as weekends where they can do their own independent things such as going to explore the city, etc.
For out of state road trips, the Au Pair is welcome to join us or they can decide to stay behind and do their own independent activities.

For out of state flight trips, there may be times where the Au Pair is unable to join us for cost and space reasons. In this case, we will provide additional resources for the Au Pair to enjoy their time away from us.

Our family prefers to have respectful open and clear communication, especially having expectations clearly managed. We hope the same for the Au Pair. This includes speaking up in the moment when there is a possibility for misunderstanding.
Our family finds that having a routine. Having a family google calendar keeps expectations clear and we know when we have deviated from a set plan.

We prefer to treat each other respectfully and like adults. We think before we speak, we hold off speaking when we are angry, we assess things with positive intent.

Our family is looking for an Au Pair that can speak some English and also speaks Thai. Start in Spring or Summer of 2022.

The host mother works full time from home as a Corporate Learning & Development Manager at a large online furniture company and the host father works as an engineer at a large semiconductor company.
Our daughter is 5 years old and attends school from 8:30 am - 2:30 pm on weekdays. She is playful, kind, intelligent and really fun to be around.

We are expecting a new baby girl in early 2022.

Work hours: Monday - Friday. 8 hours a day, 1 hour off for lunch. 40 hours for the weekday. Host family take full responsibilities during lunch hour, Au Pair free to leave premises during this time as well.

The au pair’s duties would primarily consist of taking care of an infant during the majority of the day but once the 5 year old comes home from school, she will need attention too.
The infant will need feeding, diapering, lots of attention and affection, walks outside, etc.

From 2:30 -4:00 PM The 5 year old will need dialogue, homework help, outside playtime at the playground, walks, an afterschool snack, etc.
There will also be days where the 5 year old will not be able to attend school due to a school holiday/ closure or an illness. On those days, she will require all day care like the infant but can be asked to help out with her sister.
We would like the au pair to be able to feed and prepare meals for the children and help out with laundry for the children and baby.

We live in a suburb of Portland, Oregon (USA) with nearby public transit, and many amenities (brand new state of the art fitness center, shopping, etc.).
We live in a brand new spacious house that was built The neighborhood is also new with lots of walking trails, and the brand new park is right in front of our house. The neighborhood is very friendly so the Au Pair will easily make new friends and be able to go out on walks in a clean and safe environment.

We don't have any pets (we have allergies) and make sure we keep our house clean and allergen free for health purposes. We value in being an organized family. We follow a daily schedule and routine to keep on top of things and to fit all activities in our busy lives.

The Au Pair will have their own personal apartment (that is inside the house). This apartment includes bedroom, walk-in-closet, bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, own refrigerator, microwave, washer dryer, television, separate entrance, etc. Host family will pay for household supplies, personal care, snacks, food, etc. in our weekly shopping grocery trips.

As a family, we like to travel. We travel within the state of Oregon and also outside Oregon to places like (mostly West Coast America) to Seattle Washington, Park City, Vancouver Canada, etc. In the summer we enjoy going to the beach, the mountains, etc. We love to do urban activities (eating out at restaurants, shopping mall, music and art festivals, concerts, etc.) We also like outdoor activities like skiing (we love to go Skiing in Utah, Colorado and Oregon) in Utah and hiking in the city, mountain or waterfalls.
