Family's Introduction to Au Pair
We are a young family living in the greater New York metropolitan area of New Jersey. We are a couple of nerds: Nick (the dad) is an engineer, and Jenna (the mom) is a geneticist. If you are interested in science, we are the family for you! Nick works in a traditional office setting, while Jenna travels for work and works from home when not on the road. We also enjoy singing choral music and traveling. We live in a beautiful wooded suburban development about 10 minutes drive away from the towns of Clinton and Flemington, both have nice downtowns with restaurants and shops. There is a train about 20 minutes drive away, which goes to NYC in about 1-1.5 hours. The au pair’s bedroom has an en suite bathroom.
Job Description
We are seeking an au pair to care for our 3 children: Gwendolyn (4), Charlie (2), and Magnolia (5 months).
The au pair will live with us and be responsible for the daily care of our baby while we are working. A likely schedule will be M-fri 9am-6pm.
Duties are typical to infant care, and will include activities such as watching over, feeding, playing with, and reading to our baby. The au pair will additionally be responsible for Baby's laundry and general baby clean-up. Watching Charlie and taking him to the park or library, feeding him lunch. Picking Winnie up from preschool and putting them down for naps. Feeding them a snack after the 2 hour nap.
We have 2 cars, so you will have the use of a car during your off hours and to drive the children while working.
We are looking forward to sharing our life with our au pair! We would love to show you our favorite places in New York City and New Jersey. The au pair is welcome to share meals with us, and may have occasional opportunities to travel with our family as well. We look forward to learning from you and sharing in your culture as well.
