Family's Introduction to Au Pair
Dear prospective au pair,
We are excited to invite you into our family here in East Meadow, New York. We have 3 active and playful children (a 7-year-old boy, a 3-year-old girl, and a 1-year-old boy) who have been accustomed to our lifestyles and experiences. They are curious and fun, and we hope that having another international experience (with you) will continue to broaden their horizons.
We approach this opportunity to match with a candidate with a serious thought process. The right match for us is someone fun, outgoing yet homely, serious about her interests/activities, and hardworking. We expect that you will enjoy time with our family and explore the world around us. We are very accessible to New York City (45 minutes via train).
As we are parents of young children, we are still creating our own routines as they grow and evolve. We have a park 5 minutes away from our house that contains fields, picnic tables, playgrounds, swimming pool, ice rink, golf course, fitness trails, and more. In the summertime, we go to the beach often, as it is 15 minutes away from our house. We sometimes enjoy going into New York City as well.
We expect that our au pair will work flexible hours. We will work with the au pair to free up time to attend classes on weekdays/weekends as necessary and then assist us with our children outside of those hours. Primarily, we need help with our 3-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son as our 7-year-old son needs minimal guidance before and after school. There will be variation from week to week. We also have an organized house (necessary with all the activities we do) and expect our au pair to help keep the kids rooms and laundry organized as well. We pull together as a family to keep our living spaces neat and clean and will expect the au pair to participate in that weekly as well. On the weekends we sometimes have family/ friends over and would like the au pair to participate, if she chooses to.
We hope to find our match to start as soon as possible. We are a busy energetic family and are happy to invite another member to join us.

Job Description
General schedule/activities on weekdays are:
7:30 AM to 8:30 AM - Prepare breakfast for our son. Prepare lunch and snacks for our son to take to school. Pack school bag. Wake him up. Help feed breakfast. Get him ready for school. Drop off at the bus stop as necessary.
8:30 AM to 2:00 PM - Prepare and feed breakfast, snack, and lunch for other 2 kids as necessary. Diaper change. Bath. Play. Wash baby bottles.
3:30 PM to 6:30 PM - Pick up son from the bus stop as necessary. Provide kids with snack. Help with shower and change clothes. Bathe daughter and change clothes. Prepare and help feed dinner. Brush teeth. Put 1-year-old to bed.
We are flexible with schedule requests as long you communicate any requests ahead of time and we will work with you accordingly.
