Welcome to our family! This is going to be very exciting for all of us. Not only will you have the opportunity to experience life in the US, but our family will have the opportunity to learn about a new culture and make a life-long friend. Let us introduce ourselves. We are the family. We live in Bensenville, IL, which is only 15 miles from the lakefront of the windy city, Chicago! We live in a super safe suburban neighborhood, but if you are looking for that city experience, you will get to see all of that as well. We love to travel! This past year, we went on 7+ vacations and would love for you to join us and travel the US. You can surround yourself with restaurants, movie theaters, shopping and so much more. My name is Janell and my husband is Jeff. We are currently separated, and he lives only a couple of miles away. He is very involved with our children and we are great co-parents! Our children are Addison, who 11 years old and in 5th grade. She is a super sweet, loving child but does come with some behavior challenges. She is verbal, and VERY outgoing, but ia on the Autism Spectrum. She attends school out of district to get her the best care possible, She is bussed back and forth. She also receives ABA therapy in home 3 times a week and on Saturdays. She is a very busy girl. Tommy, age 9 in 4th grade. He plays soccer 2 times and week and has games on Sundays. He is your typical boy, and super sweet! Then we have Hailey. She is 8 and in 3rd grade. She LOVES gymnastics and is the smartest and funniest little girl out there. Last but not least, Delilah is our 3 year old cat. I own a succesful IT Constulting Firm and work from my home office. I am also Vice President if the PTA.
We have a TON of family around and tend to host a lot of get togethers. We have sisters, brothers, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc. and we are all very close.
We do not practice any religion, but believe in you being able to practice whatever you choose.
I do have cleaning ladies I just ask that you keep your room tidy, kids rooms and their laundry.
We love to travel! We sometimes go for a few days or a week at a time and would love for you to join us.
We might find ourselves at the beach, park, a play place, museum, movie or out to eat, etc. Our ideal au pair is very simple to describe. It is someone who has PATIENCE, shows empathy and has a willingness to learn; we have a lot to offer anyone that joins our family. We are living the American Dream! We believe in honesty and open communication. Never hesitate to come to us if you need to ask a question or you need our help in some way. I am a single Mom looking for an extra set of hands. Help with getting kids off to school, after school activities, picking up after the kids, childrens laundry and just being a good role model for them to grow up with. Someone that loves to travel and is able to adjust as needed. We need someone super patient. With Austim Spectrum Disorder, no day is ever the same. I need a best friend for my daughter. Someone who will take her to Parks, walks, swimming, playing, etc. Or someone who stays back with her if its a hard day and is ok & not feel they are missing out. This person needs to be very loving and empathetic.
Private space and car will be made available to you.
You will also have a lot of free time off. Every other weekend they are with their Dad and 2 night a week as well.
