Dear family
My name is Lily and i am 20 years of age, i am enthusiastic, loving, kind and patient. I am energetic, free spirited and full of life. I am from Zimbabwe. I recently completed my short course in counselling and would like to further my studies in Counselling and venture into child psychotherapy, but before that i want to be able to take a gap year and explore and find new adventure through the au pair exchange program. During my spare time i love to read and listen to music. i enjoy swimming, playing netball, chess(beginner level) and i love outdoor nature.
I would like to become an au pair because i am very passionate about children and enjoy spending time with them. Besides taking care of the children i love to travel and explore and through au pair i want to be able to learn new skills from the family that i will be with and the country so that i can bring back those skills learnt back to my country.
I am prepared and I am well aware of the fact that being like a big sister for your children comes along with responsibilities for them and it will not always be just play and fun. My calm and patient personality will help me to master more difficult situations for instance when the kids are tired or don’t want to listen to me.
I expect that in the first couple of days I will be exhausted at night because I guess taking care of children the whole time can be tiring. But I am sure that I will adapt to the new tasks and daily routine quickly and become a big help for you.
Living with me is really easy as I am not a demanding person. I do respect that the house is your house and that I have to follow your house rules. If something works not quite as it should, I prefer to talk instead of ignoring things.
I have never spent longer time abroad except from holidays but I am used to not seeing either my dad, my mom or any family so i know that i am prepared from this experience with your family for one or two weeks so I don’t think I will become particular homesick.
I know i am right candidate for this position in your family because besides being an au pair i believe that my general personality and overlook in life i something needed in any family, i am more that positive and love to keep an happy life and i thrive more in places were i know that i am able to make a difference in peoples lives n make them happy and smile.
Family is important to me and i know it is for you and i know that if i am part of your family my aim would be to build and create a happy environment between all of us and i look forward into becoming your new host daughter and host sister
