My name is Mariana, I am 20 years old and I was born in Valencia, Venezuela, where I currently reside. Although I am also Italian, as my paternal grandfather is from Naples, Italy. I grew up in a home with my dad, mom, an older sister, and a younger brother.

From a young age, I was raised with values such as responsibility and respect, which I consider essential. Helping others brings me happiness. I lived in a small town surrounded by friends and family. In our house, we had the tradition of visiting my grandparents every Sunday, which I enjoyed a lot.

I enjoy family life, sharing interests, cooking together, and being united. Throughout my life, I have resided in my grandmother's house alongside my aunt, making them integral parts of my existence from a very young age. In 2018, my aunt welcomed her first daughter, Fernanda, and I was deeply involved in her care from the moment she was born. Through her, I gained valuable insights into infant care, from the early months to her current age of nearly six years.

Subsequently, in 2022, my aunt's second baby arrived at my home, providing me with another opportunity to delve into the realm of baby care and further expand my knowledge. Both experiences have significantly enriched my understanding of for children of such tender ages, encompassing their behavior and guiding me on how to navigate various situations.

From an early age, I was involved in childcare, as my mom is a preschool teacher. I accompanied my mom to her activities at school and, over time, I began to help with the children's activities. This experience has allowed me to delve into the world of early childhood learning.

I am passionate about crafts, art, drawing, and cooking. I love to cook, make desserts, and experiment with new recipes to discover different flavors. Despite my love for cooking, I maintain a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy eating well by also preparing healthier desserts and meal options. I like to exercise daily, go for runs, and parks.

Since I learned about this program, I was excited about the idea of visiting the United States and living with an American family to learn about their culture. I have always been curious about this country, and I believe that living with a local family would be the best way to immerse myself in their culture. In addition to cooking, I have taught myself to sew and make many of my own clothes. I adore pets and had a poodle who was my companion for 10 years, whom I still deeply love.

My dad always wanted me to learn English, and after his passing in 2020, I decided to focus on learning the language as he would have wished. That's why the idea of living in the United States to fulfill that shared dream fills me with excitement.

As part of a Host Family, I hope to find a family with whom I can share, learn about their culture, visit wonderful places, and support them in their daily lives. I value responsibility, communication, and respect as fundamental pillars to establish a harmonious and enriching relationship.

I am also very excited to share with you all the traditions we have here in my country and also share a bit about our gastronomy, which is certainly quite different from yours.
