I hope this letter finds you well! I am truly enthusiastic about the opportunity to help care for and support the development of your children.
I began gaining childcare experience by helping my mother with my brother, who is almost eight years younger than me. I used to assist him with his school routine, homework, and soccer practices; then, I started babysitting for friends and relatives on weekends, handling tasks such as feeding and changing diapers.
Additionally, during the holidays, I provided reinforcement classes about simple math, reading in Spanish, or basic English plus I've volunteered at my church’s Bible school on Sundays.
My most recent experience taking care of a two-year-old baby included care during a few days of hospitalization and her successful recovery. This has stoked my passion for childcare, leading me to complete a certification course to become a qualified childminder, reinforcing my experience and acquiring new techniques to help children with communication and emotional management. Now I am increasingly interested in learning more about the Montessori method.
I want to be an au pair because it would help me to improve my English level while knowing new people or places and saving some money, but also because I find spending time with children incredibly rewarding; it allows us to teach them skills while also learning from them about genuine love, the importance of forgiveness, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures.
In addition to my childcare experience, I’d like to share a bit more about myself to help you understand my background and values. I embraced Christianity in 2015, and while it does not prevent me from relating to those with different beliefs, it is reflected in my lifestyle. For example, I abstain from alcohol, smoking, and parties, instead, I enjoy doing activities like sightseeing and engaging in sports, watching movies or doing karaoke and of course spending time with my friends at my local church. I also appreciate quieter moments at home, such as reading, writing, or following a self-care routine. Besides, I am passionate about learning languages and social media management because these are tools to connect with people with different perspectives due to their culture or background. In summary, I am an ambivert person.
Although I’m not a professional cook, I love preparing salads, fruit juices, and snacks. I enjoy following recipes and trying new dishes so I would love to share my Venezuelan culinary traditions, such as making arepas and empanadas, while also learning about your american favorites.
In conclusion, I am excited about the possibility of joining your family to contribute to each other through this amazing cultural exchange program and I can’t wait to know about your family's distinctive interests and values as well as your children's personalities and daily routines.
