Introduction
My name is Lola, I’m an 18 year old current student studying a 1 year diploma In fine art and illustration. I’ve just finished two years of Alevels where I gained knowledge on geography, sociology and fine art allowing me to understand more about the world around me.
During this summer I was lucky enough to visit the beautiful country of Uganda where I volunteered in multiple schools and orphanages. I was able to connect with the children and had such an amazing time learning new culture and joining in with the children at playtime while learning lots from the teachers at the school.
During my journey I was able to stay with a family of 4, a single mum and her three children aged from 12 to 7 months. I learnt lots and gained so much respect for the mother and her children, especially her eldest daughter who became like a sister to me.
I have such a passion for working with children as I enjoy watching them grow and explore. I intend in my future to work towards becoming an art therapist working with children who may find it harder to communicate through words and allowing them to express their emotions through all kinds of art.
Children are so bright and creative and that’s why I believe au pairing would be such an amazing experience for me.
I hope to travel the world but why not pursue one of my second passions along side it?
