Hello there! I am Sehaam, a 28 year old mature university student from London, UK. I am a positive, hardworking and highly motivated individual who enjoys taking on new challenges. I have excellent communication skills and extensive customer service experience. I plan to au pair because I love working with children (I was a Camp Counselor in the past in Romania and Poland) and hope to learn about new places and cultures, and improve my Arabic.
My strengths are being an efficient communicator, writing and being an empathetic listener. My weaknesses may include sometimes being too reserved. I have skills in cooking, assisting children with their homework (as I have done this in the past with my autistic brother), and cleaning/housework through my experience with my own family.
I would like to stay with the host family for a minimum of 1 month and would like to integrate to an extent with the family.
My experiences of working with children include 1-1 tutoring, travelling with children on an international cultural exchange programme to help them with improving their English, teaching in a summer camp in Romania, and also working as an activity leader in the UK summer camps. These opportunities have taught me the relevance of cultural exchange and how to be an approachable adult for working with the younger population. I also hold a safeguarding certificate and have done various safeguarding programs.
