Introduction
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile! My name is Ashley, and I am an experienced, energetic, and deeply passionate au pair based in the UK with over ten years of hands-on childcare experience across all age groups- from infants and toddlers through to teenagers. While I’ve worked professionally as a lawyer over the last several years prior to that-I’ve worked as a babysitter, nanny, tutor, a caregiver, a camp guidance counselor, and even as a pet and home sitter. I would love to bring that experience, warmth, and enthusiasm into your home and become a trusted, positive presence in your children's lives.
What I Bring to Your Family
Childcare is not just something I do, it is something I genuinely love. I have had the privilege of caring for children at every stage of development, and what has struck me most is that every child is different. I take the time to understand each child's personality, communication style, and needs, and I adapt my approach accordingly. Whether your child needs gentle reassurance, a patient study companion, a creative play partner, or simply someone to make them laugh after a long school day, I show up with energy, consistency, and genuine care.
I am CPR and first aid certified, which means you can have complete confidence that your children are in safe, prepared hands at all times. I am also an enthusiastic prep cook and am very happy to prepare healthy, balanced, and child-friendly meals and snacks as part of our daily routine because I believe good food and good habits go hand in hand with happy children.
For school-age children, I offer dedicated homework support and tutoring assistance across core subjects, helping children build confidence in their learning at their own pace rather than simply getting through the work. I believe that a child who feels supported academically is a child who feels capable, and that makes a real difference not only academically but mentally and emotionally as they grow and mature.
I also have meaningful experience supporting children with special needs working with Special Olympics for multiple years, and I approach this area of care with particular sensitivity, patience, and respect. Every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and celebrated for exactly who they are, and I carry that belief into everything I do.
As a French speaker alongside English, I am also happy to incorporate conversational French into our daily interactions for families who value language exposure, something children absorb most naturally and joyfully at a young age.
How I Work
I am open to both live-in and live-out arrangements and am flexible in finding a structure that works best for your family's lifestyle and schedule. I am reliable, punctual, and communicative, something that I have demonstrated throughout my career. I believe that a strong, open relationship with parents is just as important as the relationship I build with your children. You will always know how your child's day went, what we worked on, what made them laugh, and anything I think is worth sharing.
What I Am Looking For
I am looking for a warm, welcoming family with whom I can build a genuine long-term connection. The families I have worked with best are those who see their au pair(or pet and house sitter) as a trusted member of the household rather than simply a service provider and in return, I bring the same dedication, discretion, and care that I would bring to my own family.
If anything here resonates with you, I would love to hear from you. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. I am very happy to arrange a call or video chat so we can get to know each other before making any decisions. Finding the right fit matters, and I take that seriously.
I look forward to hearing from you and to the possibility of becoming part of your family's story.
With warmth,
Ashley
