I am writing to express my interest in joining your household as an au pair/nanny as I relocate worldwide. I am an empathetic, energetic and dedicated Early Years specialist with several years of experience supporting children from infancy to KS1. After completing my time as Head of Early Years in the UK, I am now travelling and excited to bring my skills, warmth and passion for childcare into a home environment.
My professional background has centred around nurturing children to become confident, curious and independent individuals. I pride myself on building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families, and I believe deeply in supporting each child as an individual. My teaching experience means I naturally bring creativity, patience and structure into daily routines, as well as a strong understanding of child development, early learning and emotional wellbeing.
I gained Qualified Teacher Status through the Cabot Learning Federation and Bristol Early Years Training Alliance, and since then I have taught across Early Years and KS1. I have also previously worked as a private nanny, supporting children from toddlers to early primary age. This has given me a warm, intuitive understanding of home-based care, complementing the organisation and expertise I developed in the classroom. I confidently plan engaging, varied days—from outdoor adventures to arts and crafts, reading, imaginative play and gentle learning experiences.
I have worked with diverse families and children with a wide range of needs, including English as an additional language. Emotional wellbeing has always been central to my practice, and I value open communication, positive behaviour guidance and creating a safe, nurturing space where children feel heard, supported and understood. I handle routines calmly and confidently, from mealtimes to bedtime, ensuring the children’s holistic needs always come first.
Outside of work, I am an active and creative person. I enjoy triathlon training, horse riding, paddle boarding, hiking, surfing and spending time outdoors—passions I love sharing with children. I also enjoy music, painting and reading, and I bring these interests into my interactions to inspire confidence, resilience and curiosity.
