Dear host family,
My name is Joan. I am a 28-year-old girl who lives in Entebbe, a town in Uganda which is referred to as the Pearl of Africa. I live with both my parents and we are a family of 8, 6 children, 2 boys and 4 girls... I am a twin and the 2nd last born. I love my family so much and it is a very important part of my life. As a family we are very friendly and welcoming, and as a result my close inner circle of friends is also often viewed as family. I cherish and value my friendships; choosing to surround myself with loyal and fun people.

I graduated from Kyambogo University, with a Bachelor’s Degree of Management Science and I’m planning to pursue my masters very soon. I love traveling, reading, going to the cinema, learning new languages and different cultures, meeting new people, and definitely making memories. My very calm, collected, patient, and quick learning always comes in handy when dealing with challenging situations.
I would like to describe myself as open-minded, hard-working, easy-going, dedicated, trustworthy, helpful, patient, and a very responsible person. I love taking care of kids and their health, safety, and happiness are the most important to me. Children bring so much joy to me and I cannot be any happier as when I’m with them.

One of my strengths is the ability to bond really well with kids and also blend in very easily and as a result being able to be their mentor in different aspects of life and also be like their big sister, also the ability to learn from my mistakes. On the other hand, my weakness is that I easily get attached (especially to children) and it gets very emotionally hard to detach from them.
I can take care of your children by playing with them, helping with homework, taking them to school and all other responsibilities. I also do not mind helping with few household chores. I have experience with childcare as I work at a kindergarten and I’m always with the kids helping them out and playing with them, I also teach computer, and I am a Sunday school teacher. I sometimes care for my young nieces and nephews by bathing them, changing diapers, cooking for them, feeding them and taking them to school.

I am searching for a host family, that would be happy to have me as part of the family, be kind, welcoming and who are willing to learn new culture and language. I am looking for a long time stay with my host family, for one year or more depending on the connection formed with the family.
