Dear host family,

Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Maya and I come from Turkmenistan. I finished a specialised secondary school with a strong focus on foreign languages, and now I work as an export purchasing specialist. In my work I communicate a lot with international partners, which has helped me become organised, responsible and confident in cross?cultural communication.

My first language is Russian and Turkmen, which is very close to Turkish. I speak English at an intermediate level, know the basics of German and have started learning French. I really enjoy learning languages and would love to continue improving them during my au pair stay.

I am the eldest of four children – I have two younger sisters and a younger brother – so I have been helping to look after them for many years. I am used to playing, reading stories, going for walks, helping with daily routines and light household tasks. This experience taught me patience, empathy and how to keep a calm, friendly atmosphere at home.

As an au pair I would like to support a family in everyday life, help the children feel safe and understood, and at the same time learn more about another culture. I enjoy spending time with kids in an active and creative way: games, drawing, crafts, simple cooking together or just talking. I respect parents’ rules and try to adapt to each family’s style of upbringing. I don’t have a driving licence yet, so I usually walk or use public transport.
In the future I hope to study at a European university and work with children, so an au pair experience is an important step for me. I would be happy to become not only a helper, but also an older friend whom your children can trust.
