Dear Future Host Family, My name is Sukumaphorn Kampim. You can call me Polly. I will turn 27 years old on May and originally from Bangkok, Thailand. I’m looking for a warm and caring new host family in my second year. Currently, I’m an aupair, taking care of 2 lovely kids; 2.5 years old girl and little 10 months boy in Lebanon, New Jersey.
My family have four members. My father, my mother, my younger brother and I. My father is a primary teacher and my mother was a babysitter, so since my first memory, I was raised in a school . We are a loving family, and they are safe place. I always enjoy our time together. I’ve got a bachelor's degree from Chulalongkorn University from the faculty of education in the major of mathematics teaching. During my college life, there were many things and many people that inspired me to develop and improve myself. One of my most inspiring events is when I joined the sleep away camp at school in rural areas. My main responsibility was to create the activities to play with primary students and to look after them. They are unprivileged children, and their school lacks funds. Through this camp, I realize that children are our future and it’s important to help them learn and grow in a stable environment.
Before I graduated, I had the experience of visiting Vietnam, Malaysia, and Laos with my friends. I found that I enjoyed learning about new cultures and I had to use my English skills to communicate during these trips. Suddenly, I realized I wanted to improve my speaking skills. This goal is always on my mind, and I keep practicing. That's why after I graduated ,I decided to apply at Bangkok Bilingual School. I gained experience working with children as a teacher for children aged 7–13 years old, and I also worked as a teacher assistant to help the foreign teacher. I have the opportunity to practice my speaking skills with my foreign students and foreign teacher. However, I need an environment that supports me more to practice, and at the same time, I can also work with kids. So I believe that being an au pair will definitely fulfill my goal and the overseas experience will develop my career path in the future.
