Dear future host family,

I am 19 years old of age and I live in Port Elizabeth, Kwazakhele in South Africa. I am a very fun person to hang out with. I am friendly, well-mannered, organized, and very respectful. I have both good interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. I am honest and reliable. I love telling stories and playing fun games. Spending time with children is something I love doing in my everyday life. Children always bring out the best in me.
I love cooking, dancing, reading, cleaning, and listening to music. I love learning new things and I adapt easily to a new environment.
I come from a small family of 5. I have 3 brothers and I am the only girl child of my mother. I live with my mother and my 2 brothers, my big brother doesn’t live with us at home. My father is not present in my life. My first brother’s name is Bonga, he is 20 years old, turning 21 in November. My second brother, Genius is 15 years old and my last brother, Junior is 5 years old. My mother is a stay-at-home mom. My brothers are in school. My experience includes taking care of my mother’s friend’s 2 children, Simanye and Amina. They were 5 and 7 years old. I enjoyed spending time and looking after them but unfortunately, they relocated. I used to take care of them during weekends as I was still in High school. When I was growing up, I used to take care of my cousins as well as my neighbor’s children. I used to play hide-and-seek, soccer and netball with them. I currently volunteer at a Crechè named Lithemba Pre-school. I take care of children from different backgrounds and age groups. I play with them, feed and change their nappies as well as helping them with school work. I chose volunteering because I wanted to work and be around children everyday, that’s how much I love them. I love taking pictures and videos with children. I love capturing every special moment in order for me to keep on looking back at the great memories I had with children.
I am very fluent in English and I know the basic words of Afrikaans. I can only communicate a few sentences in Afrikaans. I would rate myself 40/100 of Afrikaans speaking.
At home we speak both English and Xhosa.
I would love to learn about a new culture and be in a new country. I would love to add on my childcare experience that will add to my growth as I want to have my own Crechè in the next 3/5 years. No one understands the joy I experience when playing with children. There is something so pure and innocent about a child's laughter and the endless possibilities that come with their imagination. Their energy is contagious, and I find myself feeling rejuvenated after spending time with them. Growing up, I was always drawn to children and would find any opportunity to interact with them. As I got older, I realized that my love for children extended beyond just playing with them. I am passionate about creating safe and nurturing environments where children can thrive and reach their full potential. In short, my love for children is unwavering, and I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to play and work with them.
I am seeking a family that is willing to open their home to me as I take care of your children. I am a responsible and caring individual who has experience in childcare. I am also willing to help with household chores and any other tasks that may be required. I hope that we can work together to create a mutually beneficial experience.
Throughout my childcare experience, I have learned a great deal about the importance of patience, adaptability, and communication. Caring for children requires a lot of energy and a willingness to be flexible, as each child has their own unique personality and needs. I have also learned the value of listening to children and providing them with a safe and nurturing environment where they can learn and grow. Overall, my childcare experience has taught me a great deal about the joys and challenges of working with children, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have gained such valuable skills.
