Dear family
Hi! My name is Joané but you can call me nétjie. I am a 23 year old plaasmeisie, lover of arts, animals, children (thank goodness) and i just finished doing my honours in Psychology at the NWU (2023).
I have lots of experience with children and I am easy going, well-mannered, competent, diligent, and hard working. I chose this path because it didn't take long for me to realise that aiding in the growth of a child is one of the most beautiful and fulfilling experiences.

During my gap year I worked at a Tina Cowley Reading Centre (Sandbaai), which is where my love for working with children became ingrained. This motivated me to begin my journey as a psychologist (with the hopes of specialising in child psychology). This journey helped me to garner insight and competencies in the field of human nature. I understand how to work with people, how to make them feel cared for, listened to, respected and appreciated. It is important to me to develop deep and meaningful relationships with the people around me. I find that this helps to form a foundation for growth, self-understanding, and authenticity.
Therefore, you can expect an au pair who gives their all.

I love dancing, horse riding, hiking, and watching my cat act like I don't exist.
I also really enjoy doing arts and crafts. Oh and a good book is always appreciated.
I find a lot of joy in playing with kids - it's incredibly energising seeing them so excited.
