This is just a small glimpse into who I am as a person.
In essence I am a nurturer and a true small-people's person. I love how children always gravitate towards me... Babies fall asleep in my arms... Let me explain.
When your main purpose in life is to raise children, some things eventually just get imprinted into your mind, body and heart. Your hands know how to hold and to heal. In your DNA you know how to softly cradle a baby, how to kiss and hug a two-year old with yet another boo-boo, how to fist-bump a teenager (because he is way too cool for hugs at that age). How to sit on the floor, and draw a hundred yellow flowers for the five year old sitting there, drawing with you. How to smile and make jokes, while inside you are feeling adult emotions - but you HAVE to smile because your big-people things can never spill over and ruin the best days of their lives.
You run with them, you stand with them, you hold their hands when they want you to hold their hand - safety and security. You keep to their routine, come rain or shine - safety and security. You listen to them when they speak - safety and security (and also being heard is one of the biggest gifts you can give a child!).
There are so many aspects of being a good caregiver, but it all boils down to the three things:
1. Love them unconditionally.
2. Show them what a cardinal role they play in your life - and that they are important to you.
3. We are not raising children, we are growing balanced adults for tomorrow.

I started as an 18 year old au pair in the Netherlands, I couldn't wait to have kids of my own, tried to help parents through starting my own agency supplying candidates to the Netherlands, and eventually had my own babies. At the age of 7, both boys were diagnosed with ADHD, put on Ritalin and left to be a statistic. I showed them! I promptly started homeschooling both boys, and today they are medication-free and brilliant self-starters.

However, now it is my time. Time to return to my passion, and that is looking after, and loving the little people. Children have always been my passion. I have had so many occupations in my life, but there has always been this one constant: those little oompa loompas who just cannot sit still for 5 seconds, and you cannot help but love them.

I would love to have a chat with you and get to know you and your family better, and for you to see that I would be that one person you have always needed in your life to make things just a little bit easier!
