Hello future host family! My name is Roxzann, I’m 21 years old, and I was born and raised in South Africa. I come from a loving family—my mom Rikileigh, my dad Riaan, and my 16-year-old brother Ruan. Growing up in a supportive home shaped me into someone responsible, patient, and grounded.
I’ve always had a passion for working with children, and I have over eight years of childcare experience. I spent two years in the United States as an au pair, caring for two boys, one of whom had special needs. That experience taught me empathy, adaptability, and how to confidently support children with different developmental and emotional needs.
To strengthen my skills, I completed my TEFL qualification, earned a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, and did a course in Sign Language, which allows me to communicate and support children in more inclusive ways. Education and growth are important to me, and I love using what I’ve learned to create positive, nurturing environments for kids.
Outside of work, I’m very close to my best friends—Zuraide, Nicole, and Casey—who have been a huge part of my life and support system. My upbringing, friendships, and professional experience have all shaped me into a caring, hardworking, and dependable person who genuinely loves helping children learn, grow, and feel safe.
