A little bit about myself.
Hi there, my name is Michaela and I'm a South African, 24 years old, I've Au Paired for three years, one in South Africa and over a year in Berlin. Before that I was an intern as an English Teacher in Shanghai. I love working with children, especially nurturing their creativity with painting and arts or outdoor activities.
I have a passion for books and reading and love sharing this with the children I am looking after. My favourite childrens books, The Whale and the Snail, The Go-Away Bird, The Gruffalo.) And series for reading with older children; Fablehaven is my go-to.
I myself am very outgoing, I enjoy reading, photography, painting, hiking and nature walks. Growing up in South Africa I had the privilege to spend so much time outdoors, my household was always a bit chaotic as we had dogs, cats and horses, as well as anything fluffy or feathery that needed a home. I was a horse rider for many years and competed nationally. I also love the city. The diversity is wonderful and I enjoy going to art galleries and new places.
I am looking for a position potentially for next year January 2023. I am currently enrolled in an online degree, a bachelors in Linguistics and Archaeology. I would prefer a family with a routine or fixed schedule, so that I have designated study/off time. Of course I don’t mind being flexible if that’s necessary!
I am currently in South Africa and am focusing on the UK as an Au Pairing point.
