I hope this message finds you and your loved ones well and happy! My name is Courtney, I'm a 26-year-old woman from beautiful South Africa, and I'm truly excited about the possibility of joining your family as a live-out Au Pair in Berlin (or nearby) starting at the end of March or beginning of April.
A little bit about me: I'm warm, patient, super friendly, and genuinely passionate about working with children — they bring so much joy and energy into my life! I hold a BSc degree in Physiotherapy, which has given me valuable knowledge about child development, movement, play safety, and even handling little everyday "ouchies" (like bumps from play or helping with stretches during active games). This background makes me especially mindful of keeping kids healthy and active while having fun. I've already gained solid hands-on experience as an Au Pair in Cape Town, Paarl, and Plettenberg Bay, where I cared for children of various ages — preparing meals, helping with homework, doing creative crafts, outdoor adventures, bedtime routines, and lots of cuddles and laughter along the way.
At home, I have a sweet younger sister whom I adore, and two adorable nephews who keep me on my toes with their endless play ideas — from building forts to park outings, baking together, or just snuggling up for storytime. These everyday moments with family have taught me how important consistency, affection, and fun routines are for kids' happiness and growth.
What makes me special? Beyond my professional training and Au Pair experience, I'm reliable, flexible, and creative — I love turning ordinary days into magical ones with games, songs, nature walks, or simple science experiments. I'm also calm under pressure (a big plus from my physio work!) and always prioritize open communication to make sure everyone feels supported and understood. I don't have any tattoos or piercings.
I'm conversational in German (enough for family chats, daily routines, shopping, and getting around Berlin comfortably), and I'm thrilled to be starting B2-level German lessons right here in Berlin in April — I'm committed to improving quickly so I can connect with your family and the local community.
One important note: I'll be living in Berlin with my partner of 7 years, so I'm specifically seeking a live-out position — coming to your home during agreed hours (e.g., school pick-ups, afternoons, evenings as needed) and returning home in the evenings. This setup allows me to bring fresh energy each day while respecting family privacy and boundaries.
