Hi family, my name is Mbas !
I am a black African female. I am 22 years old with experience in childcare and aupairing currently in pursuit of first aid training for childcare. I am writer, a photographer and overall artist. I played tennis and hockey quite well for 12 years of my life, I play chess and recently learnt checkers, which I enjoy but quite mediocre. I grew up with a huge family, I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters whom I love immensely and have a great respect for and a great relationship with, might I mention my lovely cat Poseidon. I am a great cook and love baking-
I am very into fitness- especially weightlifting with a recent love for running and would love to get into hiking. I love reading. My most recent reads are the Epic of Gilgamesh - an epic poem, Heart of the Hunter by South African author, Deon Meyers and my favourite book is Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. I love African literature and my writing and photographic work captures that.
I am big on hobbies, I think they are quite important for mental wellness and resilience and strengthening the brain. I recently took up painting by numbers- very tedious but rewarding.
I love learning. I love a challenge, physically and mentally. I am currently into etymology, specifically on my home language IsiXhosa. I grew up by the countryside and has led me to a great love for gardening. I love music. my favorite classical is fur Elise by Beethoven. My dad fostered my love for jazz.
In honour of transparency, I was a media student at Nelson Mandela University but currently on study leave which I hope to continue with one day
