Introduction

Hallo!
Ich heiße Shaina.
Ich bin fünfundzwanzig Jahre alt.
Ich komme von den Philippinen.
Ich wohne in Essen, Germany.
Ich spreche Tagalog, Hiligaynon, English und ein bisschen Deutsch.
Meine Hobbys sind Reisen, Schwimmen, Bücher lesen und Kochen.
I am currently studying German Language, A2 level. I am quite confident in using English language as this is the medium of instruction in school, colleges and universities in the Philippines. It has been my language of learning since I was six years old. If you consider non-EU citizen as an au pair, you may read a little about me below, but if not, you might as well skip my profile.
Hello again, you can call me Shai. I am hardworking, honest, kind, responsible, patient, and trustworthy. I am a good cook and a good cleaner. I will be a good additional helping hand in your family, especially when it comes to your kids. I am passionate in terms of taking care of children; I am fond of kids, and I like sharing my knowledge with them. I used to be a personal tutor; my forte is math and science.
As for my child care experiences, I am the eldest among my siblings, and I have watched after my younger siblings as I have quite a wide age gap with them. Also, I used to live rent-free, with free tuition and allowance during my high school years provided by a distant relative in exchange for light housework, helping in their store, watching after their 7-year-old youngest child, and tutoring him.
My fondness for babies and kids has been with me for as long as I can remember. While I was in my last year of college, I was also helping my landlady watch over her 2-year-old son. It was not paid job, nor did she ask me to do it, but I enjoyed taking care of him.
I used to work as a customer service representative as well after college, and by that time, I had transferred to a new apartment again. My apartment was adjacent to my landlady’s unit; they had a 4-month-old baby girl when I moved in there, and they were my next-door neighbors. The work in customer service can be draining and can drastically affect mood due to irate or angry customers, but I find joy and relaxation every time I get back to my apartment because I always go to my landlady and my mood lightens up when I am holding the baby, and I stay there for hours pushing the stroller and holding the feeding bottle until she sleeps. I think that is also the reason why her parents made me one of her godparents.
When I got transferred to another job in another place, I lived with a relative rent-free again. I have my own room, but I helped with household chores and took care of their 3-year-old and 6-year-old kids in my free time. I often go out and take them to the playground too.
Being able to finish my college education is proof of my hard work; it was achieved through part-time jobs and being a tutor. For being responsible and trustworthy, most of the people I know entrust their kids/babies under my care. Even now, my neighbors still leave their babies at my place when they have errands or emergency things to do.
Cooking is my favorite household work. I like trying out and experimenting new recipes, and I really think the best way to learn more menus is through experiencing new cultures and tasting new cuisines.
I want to be an Au Pair because I want to experience different culture. More than learning a new language, site seeing, and learning history, I want to adapt the way how you do things around and how you live. My father always has amazing stories to share how European are so fast pace, productive, and so focused on their work, how advance the homes are, and their lifestyle that may have been the secret to longevity and healthy aging. I wanted to learn all these.
If you want to know more about me, you can message me anytime. Thank you!
Best Regards,
Shai
