Introduction
I am currently studying from Senior High School under the STEM strand, and while my studies focused on academics, my heart is in caregiving. I love taking care of children and helping around the house. I’ve gained real experience by taking care of my nephew AJ since he was a baby — he’s now 3 years old. I helped feed him, change his diapers, play with him, and take care of him when he was sick. I’ve always treated him like a little brother, and caring for him taught me patience, love, and responsibility.
I also helped care for my grandfather during his recovery from colon cancer, and my great-grandmother, who was around 90 years old. I would help feed her, assist her with daily activities, and spend time talking with her. These experiences shaped me into someone who is caring, gentle, and dependable — both with children and elderly.
I enjoy cooking (especially Filipino food), cleaning, and learning new routines. I’m easy to get along with, respectful, and very open to adapting to your household’s way of life. I believe that being an au pair is not just about helping, but about becoming part of a family, sharing cultures, and creating meaningful memories with your children.
After turning 18, I also plan to take a TESDA caregiving course here in the Philippines to further improve my skills. My long-term dream is to build a career in caregiving or child-related work, and this opportunity would be an important step for me.
I’m especially interested in Ireland or countries close to the UK, as I have a friend living in London and hope to visit her during my time off if allowed. Since I’ll be applying from the Philippines, I kindly hope to find a family who’s able to sponsor my au pair visa and flight ticket. I understand that’s a big responsibility, and I would be truly grateful. In return, I will give my best to care for your children, respect your home, and be a reliable part of your family.
Thank you so much for taking time to read my letter. I’d love to get to know your family better and hope we can be a good match.
Warm regards,
Avegail Janine
