My name is Gerlyn, a 27-year-old Filipina who loves caring for children and learning about new cultures. I grew up in a humble and close-knit family, where I learned the importance of kindness, patience, and responsibility by helping with chores and taking care of my younger cousins.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, but along the way, I realized that my heart belongs to teaching and working with kids. I’ve worked as an online ESL tutor for Japanese students for 16 months and currently work as a teaching assistant at Kumon, helping children improve in Math and Reading. I’m also TEFL-certified, which has helped me become more confident in supporting children’s learning in fun and creative ways.
I would love to be like a big sister to your kids — someone who can play with them, help them with schoolwork, and be there when they need comfort or encouragement.
One of my biggest dreams is to travel and work abroad. I want to grow as a person and experience new culture so when I get older, I have memories to keep and cherish.
