Dear Host Family,

thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
My name is Gretchen and I am 24 years old. You surely get a lot of these letters from prospective Au Pairs, but rest assured, you will not regret to read about my reasons why I want to become your Au Pair.

I currently reside in a big town in the Visayas Region of the Philippines with my mother, my younger brother and sister, and five cousins. Although he works far away from us, my dad still visits once a year. I work as a customer representative right now. I am eager to travel and see more of the world and other nations.

My favorite pastime is playing volleyball. I've been volunteering at a kids' learning camp for the past three months, and I was given the task of teaching the youngest set of kids the basics of reading. I was in charge of keeping the kids occupied in between the quick exercise classes, and we had a great time playing games like hide-and-seek, face painting, coloring, and many others.

Additionally, I enjoy reading novels in English and Filipino. I can't wait to have access to an English library so I can read all the books I enjoy, especially Jonah Pacala, one of my favorite Filipino authors.

I adore kids and would be thrilled to be your next au pair as I enjoy being around them. Being like a big sister to your kids means that I'm ready for the idea that it won't always be play and enjoyment and that I have obligations too. My ability to remain composed and patient will come in handy in challenging circumstances, such as when the kids are cranky or refuse to listen to me.

Taking care of kids all day can really wear you out, so I imagine that for the first few days I will be tired at night. However, I'm confident that I'll rapidly adjust to the new responsibilities and daily schedule and be of great assistance to you.

Being that I am not a difficult person, living with me is incredibly easy. I understand that this is your home and that I must abide by your regulations. I would rather speak with someone than just ignore issues when something isn't functioning quite right.

I would truly like to know everything about you and your kids. So far, the material I've read sounds quite intriguing. I sincerely hope you find my message pleasing, and I eagerly await your response.
