Hello, my future host family!

My name is Vergielyn or you can just call me Vergie. I am from the Philippines. I am hoping to find a loving and caring host family to spend my cultural exchange program with.

I am 30 years old, single, and I don't have kids, but I am very close to my nieces and nephews. We are just living near to each other so in our free time, we always hang out together. I also babysat them when they were very young. I was also a volunteer teacher in our church and I volunteered to teach the children in our local community every Saturday.
Through these experiences, I was able to practice being more patient and understanding when dealing with children and can adapt to the needs and routines of the family. Also, I have good communication skills with both kids and adults.

I can do household chores and cook simple dishes. I would gladly help your family with managing daily schedules and tasks efficiently. I am enthusiastic and love doing activities like traveling or playing some games (indoors and outdoors). You can fully trust me with your kids while you are at work. And I can also help them with their English since I am an English online tutor. So, I know how to deal with their English communication skill.

In my free time, I do some DIY crafts that I have seen on YouTube. I can dance a little too, so sometimes I dance Zumba. I love watching movies and dramas from different countries like Japan and Korea, so I was able to learn some simple expressions from them as well. And lastly, I love listening to music. Though I am not a very good singer, sometimes, I sing along with the singer to enjoy the song more.

My Experience:
-I was a Volunteer teacher at our church and our local community from 2015 until the Covid-19 pandemic.
-I babysat my nephews and nieces when they were very young. And while they were still growing up, I was still always looking after them.
-I have helped them with their homework, especially in English.
-I have played with them in both indoor and outdoor activities.
-I have prepared simple meals for kids
-I have done household chores
-I have sent them to school
