Good day, Host Family!

I am Vladimir “Naya Marie” from the Philippines, and I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Psychology. You might be wondering why my name has quotation marks. Before anything else, I would like to respectfully share that I am a trans woman.

I was born and raised in Cebu City by my grandparents. I grew up with my five siblings and two cousins, and being surrounded by a big family helped shape me into a caring, responsible, and family-oriented person. Growing up with them was full of fun, learning, and unforgettable memories that taught me the importance of patience, understanding, and compassion.

At the age of seven, I already started participating in volunteer work in our church together with my aunt. During my junior high school years, I became more active in community and church activities and was given the opportunity to teach children through catechism. Through this experience, I learned how to communicate with children patiently, guide them with kindness, and create a positive and comfortable environment where they can learn and grow.

At a very young age, I was already exposed to taking care of children. My older brother had his first daughter when I was nine years old, and from that time on, I helped him care for her by assisting with daily routines, playing with her, and making sure she felt safe and happy. As the years went by, our family continued to grow, and I became more experienced in helping care for my nieces and nephews. Because of this, I became naturally comfortable around children and learned how to handle different personalities, moods, and situations with patience and understanding.

I genuinely enjoy being with children because they bring so much joy and positivity. I love playing with them, helping them learn new things, assisting with schoolwork, and encouraging them to express themselves creatively. I am also very patient, nurturing, responsible, and attentive when it comes to childcare.

Aside from childcare, I can also help with household responsibilities. I know how to cook basic meals, clean the house, organize things, and maintain a tidy environment since these were taught to me at a young age and became part of my daily routine growing up. I am highly adaptable and willing to learn new things that can help me become a better au pair for your family.

I am also fluent in English, both in speaking and writing, which allows me to communicate effectively and confidently with both adults and children. I also have experience teaching and assisting others in English, which helped me improve my communication skills even more. Because of my Psychology background, I have knowledge about child development, behavior, communication, and emotional understanding, which I believe will help me connect with and care for your children in a more meaningful way.

In addition, I have a strong background in leadership and community involvement. I am currently serving as an SK official in our barangay and previously served as the President of our university’s student government. These experiences helped me develop leadership skills, teamwork, problem-solving abilities, time management, discipline, and the confidence to handle responsibilities under pressure. Through these experiences, I learned how to become more understanding, organized, dependable, and compassionate toward other people.
