Dear Host Family,
My name is Kirsey Anne. I am a 24-year-old woman from Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. I stand 163 cm tall, have naturally curly hair, and come from a family of six. I am the second eldest among five siblings—one older sister and three younger brothers aged 23, 21, and 4. My parents separated many years ago, so my siblings and I have been supported entirely by our mother. Growing up with our relatives was not always easy, as we had to adjust to their routines and expectations, but I learned a lot from them. Their guidance taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of facing reality with courage. These experiences shaped me into the independent woman I am today—someone who can manage her emotions, communicate openly, find solutions, and stay mindful and responsible.
I am a college undergraduate because I could no longer afford my tuition and basic needs. Still, I chose to see this as a chance to look for new opportunities, create new beginnings, and work toward the future I dream of. Even though others may think my situation is unfortunate, I don’t let that define me. Instead, I am determined to prove my strength, dedication, and capability.
I am doing this for my personal growth and to give myself the chance to fulfill my childhood dreams. I adapt quickly to new environments, routines, and responsibilities. I am comfortable with household chores—I can do laundry by machine or by hand, wash dishes, clean the house daily, organize spaces, and help with groceries. I can also ride a bicycle and motorcycle when needed.
When it comes to childcare, I have plenty of hands-on experience. Throughout my college years, I cared for my nephew from the time he was a newborn until now, as he is about to turn three. I looked after him every day—feeding, bathing, playing, putting him to sleep, and singing lullabies. I feel proud knowing I played such a big role in his early years. I truly enjoy being around children; I love making them happy, supporting them, and giving them the attention they deserve. My nieces and nephews have always been close to me because they know I am someone who listens, understands, and cares for them wholeheartedly.
