Dear Host Family,
I am writing to introduce myself and extend my interest in being an Au pair. I know that you are getting a lot of letters from many prospective Au pairs, but rest assured that you will be happy to read my reasons why I wanting to become your Au pair.
I am Judy Mae, a 22-year-old from the Philippines. I live with my parents and am a fresh graduate from a university in the Philippines. I finished my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology Cum Laude, one of the highest honors and Latin honors a school could give to a student, which I can surely use as my skills whenever I have someone in the family I need to tutor.
I am currently seeking a job in the Philippines or abroad. I can't wait to explore more from the world and other countries afterward! To experience the culture, the place, a different food, and to meet new people.
In my spare time, I love to read books, walk with nature, and sometimes play tennis. During the pandemic, I worked with an organization in rural areas, especially on the island and mountains, that helps children on their modules, especially those who don't have access to technology. With those experiences, I was able to help children with their studies and teach children at an elementary level. We had a lot of fun ensuring that we followed the safety measures during the pandemic here in the Philippines. We did a lot of activities, including paintings, playing educational games, and mind games.
As I mentioned, I always love reading books, especially self-growth; one of my favorite books is The Atomic Habit by James Clear, which changed how I think and my perspective.
I would love to become your next Au Pair if you allowed me to be part of your home because I love children and enjoy spending time with them. Here in the Philippines, I also live with my niece during college and always get along with them. I am prepared and aware that being like a big sister to your children comes with responsibilities for them, and it will not always be play and fun. My calm and patient personality will help me to master more challenging situations, for instance, when the kids are tired or don't want to listen to me. I graduated with a degree in Psychology. I can work even with children with special needs as one of my understanding in the field of degree I chose here in the Philippines. I expect that I will be exhausted at night in the first couple of days because taking care of children the whole time can be tiring. But I will quickly adapt to the new tasks and daily routine and greatly help you.
Living with me is easy as I am not a demanding person. I respect that the house is your house and that I follow your house rules. If something works not quite as it should, I prefer to talk instead of ignoring things.
I have never spent a longer time abroad and never been abroad, that is why this is a great opportunity for me to experience things and new culture abroad.
