Dear host family,
I am already excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you.
My name is Jean . I am 23 years old and currently residing with my parents in a small town in Leyte, Philippines. I am living in a house that is located in an area which is a small urban. I am a pet lover, I have two dogs named Moshi and Pom-pom, who love to cuddle all day. My father and mother is currently working in our small business just located in front of our house. Overall, we are a pretty large family, having 5 siblings which most of them has already build their own families and sometimes I'm responsible in baby-sitting my 1 nephew and 4 nieces. I got along with kids pretty well since I already experience it from them, from the time they are born and up until now that they are already busy at school. I also manage in tutoring them in subjects they have difficulties with.
I would describe myself as a responsible, caring and optimistic person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time with my friends; they are – as well as my family – very important to me. I’m always there for them if they need me.
In my free time, I like to listen to music, play online games, go shopping, playing musical instruments or going to the gym. Playing musical instruments is one of my favorite hobbies and I am also teaching my niece and nephew in our spare time. Furthermore, I enjoy reading a good book and singing. Every summer, I always tend to find some part time and ending up taking our small business.
At the moment, I work as a QA for a company in Cebu, Philippines. I enjoy this job very much, because I am able to bond with many of my customers and co-workers. I also had a part time work as a waitress in our eatery a year ago. For the past ten years, I took care of children of all ages not only from my family but also from different families. I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them. I also love to teach them about school in my spare time. Through this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have children around, I can’t imagine a life without them.
The reason why I want to go to the Belgium as an au pair is that I want to get to know the Belgian way of life as well as understanding the different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. And of course, it would be great to improve my English, German and Dutch skills as well.
I hope we can develop a good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids. I am looking forward to talking to you.
