Dear host family,
I am already very excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you.
My name is Cherry Ann. I am 42 years old and from Batangas City, Phillipines. I graduated in AMA Computer Learning Center as the Most Outstanding Student with a 2 years Computer Secretarial Course. I worked in Kuwait as Household Service Worker since March 10, 2022 and finished my contract this January 01, 2024. I am single but I have a son who is turning 19 this coming April 14, 2023. I have 3 siblings, 2 brothers and 1 sister. My mother is 60 yo and my father was deceased for 22 years now. I live with my Auntie and my Grandma who is a bedridden patient for almost 13 years now. I have been worked in a private company in Laguna Philippines for 9 years starting from 2000 up to 2009. I have no choice but to resign to my work that time because my grandmother who is taking care of my child was stroked and became disabled since then up to now. After that, I've set up a small business which offers computer services in front of our house so that I can nurse my grandma and taking care of my son too who is 5 yo. during that time. I have also took care of my niece who is 3 months old that time because her parents are both working. I know how to manage my time doing all the household chores, a caregiver, a nanny, a businesswoman and as a mother. I did this routine for 11 years until I was decided to work overseas to try another opportunity and also to support my son who entered college.
I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time with my family because they are very important to me. Always trying to help, I’m always there for them if they need me.
In my free time, I like to listen to music. Watching movies at home with my family. Dancing and watching drama are my favorite hobbies. Furthermore, I enjoy reading a good book and singing too even though I'm not a singer.
The reason why I want to go overseas as an au pair is that I want to get to know the European way of life as well as different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance helping a family that needs my service. And of course, it would be great to improve my English skills as well and most importantly to support my family financially.
