Hi, my name is Valeria Vigil, I’m 24 years old and I am from PERU.
I live in Chiclayo, a city in the north of Perú, here you can find tourist attractions as Pimentel beach and museum Tumbas Reales “Señor del Sipan”. I live with my mother and my father, their names are Katya and Luis, and I have 2 brothers: Sebastian and Rodrigo. They’re younger than me.
I see myself as a punctual, resilient, supportive, curious, and organized person. My hobbies are swimming, doing yoga, crossfit, traveling, and reading. I’m learning to meditate, I also like movies, my favorite are sagas like Harry potter and Marvel. I’m a vegetarian and a pescetarian. I can drive, too. I take my little brother to school every day. I clean my house three times a week: I sweep and mop my bedroom and the living room. I clean the bathroom that I share with my family. I vacuum the carpet on the weekends. Also, I take out that garbage at the end of the day. I can cook different dishes for lunch if I see recipes.

I finished my career in hospitality management and tourism in 2021. I want this AuPair program to practice my English because I need it for my career. It will help me with responsibility and patience with other people.

I have experience with kids, because I am a swimming instructor. One of my students was Gadiel, he was 4 years old, I helped him overcome his fear of the pool.
Then I worked with Alis and Mila, 4 and 2 years old. Alis learned to float and dive; but Mila only floats and plays in the water, but it is OK, I can handle different attitudes in children.

I babysit many kids. In summer, I babysit Ariana (4 years old), my friend’s daughter. We go to the beach and make sand castles. I take care of her on the beach, I help her choose her bathing suit and clothes, and I make some snacks to eat. Afterwards, I help her to take a shower and I wash the bathing suit and towels.
Every day, I babysit my brother Rodrigo (7 years old). I teach him some English, geography or we read together and I check his homework. In the morning, I help him to dress up, and in the afternoon, we sometimes go to the park and play. I remind him to brush his teeth before bed.
On the weekends, I babysit Julio (6 years old). First, I check his homework and then I take him to the cinema in the afternoon because his parents work. Moreover, I look after Valentina (3 years old). I take her to the park to play with her school friends, and I check her homework, too.
In the evening, I babysit Matheo (8 years old): I make dinner for him. Then, I help him take a shower, put on pajamas, and I read a fairytale before he sleeps. Sometimes he wants to play for a moment, so we play video games but only for 30 minutes.

I love cultural exchange. It helps me get out of my comfort zone and I have the opportunity to learn about other customs and new responsibilities. I know this experience will help me choose my second career, because I would like to study Children Education when I return to Peru after the end of AuPair. Also, I will miss my family a lot but they will be happy when they see me again and that my English is better and I visited another country.
