Hey there! I'm Skylar, a 20-year-old with a knack for adaptability, having lived in various places like Namibia and Cape Town due to my education. My multiple school moves taught me to adapt quickly, embracing different cultures and people.

During my high school stint in Cape Town, I lived with a host family. I had to get used to not only a new country but also my family's house rules and customs. It was a fantastic experience that further polished my adaptability skills. I gained financial independence, responsibility, and made lasting friendships.

I'm eager to bring my creativity, adaptability, and love for children to a new family. I can not wait to embark on this exciting childcare journey together!

I'm a bit of an introvert, but my friends might argue otherwise. I find my bliss in activities like painting, reading, dancing, writing, music and photography. Coding and languages are my creative playground too, I am currently diving into Python. I'm on the journey of self-improvement while savouring every bit of learning and new experiences. Dreaming of traveling to soak in diverse cultures and explore the unknown. I'm a curious and creative soul, always eager to imagine, create, and quench my curiosity.

I'm presently on a gap year, taking a step back from my studies to recenter myself. Last year, halfway through my first year in Law school, I faced the need to pause my academic journey to assist my Gran, who passed away at the blessed age of 103 in December 2023. While I have the freedom to resume my studies, I've chosen to take this time away from the institution to gather more life experiences before fully committing to my degree once again.

While my official childcare experience may be limited, my natural connection with kids shines through my role as an aunt to five nieces and nephews. Beyond family, I joyfully pitch in to help my sister's friend's mother, who runs a daycare, whenever she needs an extra pair of hands. This involves not only watching the kids but also crafting activities, maintaining order, reading stories, and adding a sprinkle of fun to their day. Although I don't do this frequently, it's a delightful experience that complements my innate kindness, patience, and ability to connect with children. I'm genuinely excited to extend this warmth and assistance to a new family, creating a positive and nurturing environment for their children.
