Introduction
My name is María Alondra Martínez Avalos, I am 25 years old, I am from Mexico and I currently live in Querétaro with my dad and my brother. My family consists of my dad Arturo, my older sister Corina and my brother the one in between Harold.
I studied Physiotherapy at the Autonomous University of Queretaro, and did my social service at the Hospital for children and women, since the pediatric area is the one I like the most and this hospital had everything I needed. In all the time that I have had the opportunity to live with children, it made me realize that I was in the right career, because I had the opportunity to continue living with children and help them in their rehabilitation at the same time.
I also did a diploma in thanatology, since the hospital made me realize that I needed to know how to communicate with people before any loss (personal, physical, material). This course made me grow as a person and see more for others, and always keep in mind that everything is important and is something that I put into practice with children. It's always important to listen to what they have to say.
One of my greatest passions, in addition to my career, is traveling, because I like to meet new people, places, customs and beliefs. I am a faithful believer that we all have something good to teach and something to learn from others.
I have worked in different places in childcare, for example: my first job and the one that lasts the longest year was the Catholic Youth Movement (MJC) is very similar to scouts. Here I took care of children of all ages, from 6 years old to 12 years old. It's a move that made me realize how innocent and beautiful it is to take care of them and how much you learn by playing and talking to them.
Later I was in the summer working as a nanny, in a restaurant, in the children's area, within this area, I was dedicated to taking care of the children in the games, to put activities, movies, paint them the face of a character, accompany them with their relatives and deliver them when they left. This job gave me the opportunity for families who already knew me to hire me to take care of their children at home when they needed it and continue to gain experience of preparing their food, helping them with their chores, and taking them to sleep.
Finally make process to enter a company of national and international camps called Peña Grande; within this company I have been dedicated for 4 years to go camping with different schools in the city of Querétaro, with children in an age range of 4 years to 18.
In this company I learned what love and care for children really was, and that is not only to put them to play, but it is to take care of it in all its aspects and the most important thing that you have a life in your hands. This company gave me both water rescue and first aid tools as a first responder, because it is of the utmost importance to be prepared for everything that could happen inside the camp.
I really want to be an au pair, because I love the work you can achieve, the love, trust and friendship you create.
Children will always be part of my life, because one learns more from them than they do from us.
I would also like to be an Au Pair, because I have always liked to meet other people, with different customs and cultures, and being able to share mine with you excited me a lot.
I am a person who is very passionate about his work, and always tries to give 101%
I have high expectations of this program, because I believe it will give me the necessary tools professionally and personally to be a better person and a better physiotherapist. At the end I inte to enter some other Pediatric Hospital or do a master's degree in neuropediatrics in some other country.
I found my passion, which is to work with children either with different abilities or if they. Children have an Angel that I believe not many people can appreciate and care for.
I hope to meet you very soon, that this little letter will make you know a little more about me, what I do, what I like and my dreams for the future, and that in this way you will give me the opportunity to be part of your family.
With love, a traveling physiotherapist.
