Dear host family,
My name is Tamara Trejo, and I am 20 years old. I have been living in Mount Airy, Maryland with my amazing host family for almost a year! I have been part of this family with two kids, one 7 year old girl that is always asking questions and looking forward to learn more and a 6 year old boy who loves arts and crafts and has an amazing imagination. My host parents always look for the way to make me feel part of the family and getting me involve in family activities.
I used to live with my parents and my two sisters in Veracruz which is a city on the coast of Mexico. I spend a lot of time with my family, and now that I’m far we call each other very often, I have a very nice relation with my two sisters, one of them is older than me and her name is Kassandra (24) and the other one is younger, and it’s called Samantha (18). Overall, we are a pretty large family, I have 20 cousins and we always try to keep in touch and up to date with our lives.
I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, I’m a people person. I love meeting new people and learning about their lives, also I’m highly organized and I like to give my help as needed.
In my spare time, I love to exercise myself either going for a walk, gym or some other sport (I used to play flag football when I was living in Mexico), also I love to read fantasy and history books, some of my favorite authors are Rick Riordan and Carlos Ruiz Zafon, I spend a lot of time going to the library and enjoying a good book. At the same time, I enjoy being outdoors, going for walks, and exploring new places, but I also enjoy watching a movie or making desserts.
During this year I have been learning a lot of being involve in a new country with new traditions and with a new family, I have been enjoying my life as an au pair and I would love to experience a new environment with a new host family how is willing to show me their traditions and lifestyle.
When I was in Mexico, I worked in a childcare company called “Wonderland” for almost 3 years where I assigned dynamics and games to the kids, most of them were dances and songs.
I used to study at UDLAP university for the career of International Relations in the third semester, and I would love to go back and keep going with my studies at the end of my au pair year. I also used to worked as a nanny in a family with a newborn, I work with them for about 7 months where the mom teached me how to take care of her baby.
I would love to be your Au Pair and take care of your children; I know what it is like to be an older sister, it's not just playing and having fun, it’s also carrying responsibilities, like giving advice, helping them with homework, listen to them and help them in situations that you already go through, and give them a lot of love and affection.
Living with me is easy, I love to be involved in daily routines, but also, I respect the privacy of each family member. I like the order and organization, I adapt easily to rules and new environments, I’m open and reliable, and I love to be with any kind of animal.
I am very excited to meet you and to be able to speak with you, I can’t wait to be your next Au Pair and spend a whole year with your family. I hope to hear from you soon.
