Dear Host Family,

My name is Lahatra which means "Destiny" in English and I'm 21 years old. I live in the capital city of the fourth biggest island in the world (Madagascar). Malagasy is my mother tongue but I speak English fluently and I would define my French level as intermediate. I'm still staying with my parents and we are a family of four people. In my family, I am the eldest of two siblings and I have a little sister. I live in a family who loves pets like cats, rabbits, chickens, and guinea pigs.

I am a curious, creative and joyful person. Because of my personal traits, I always find a way to get in touch with kids like asking their preferences and what they would like to play with me. I have not been an au pair yet but concerning my childcare experience, I spent my summer time at a basecamp where I played with kids and exchanged with them. Besides, I took care of my friends'kids because I really love kids. For instance, I cook their meals, read their favorite books, gave them a piggy back, gave them a bath and played their most loved games. Apart from that, being the first-born kid in my family helps me to take responsibility to be a great sister who always looks after her little sister.

I can participate in light household tasks because I am used to do that with my family. I will be glad to take part of daily chores in your family.

There are several reasons why I want to be au pair. To begin with, I want to live a new thing that will bring a wonderful experience in my life like living in a new family who is not my own but becomes like my second family because we are united by the au pair program. To continue with, I am so excited to experience new cultures and share my Malagasy culture with my host family. I would consider it as a cross-cultural exchange in a new country. Experiencing and understanding new cultures are beneficial for my personal growth. The last but not the Ieast is that I want to have new little sisters and brothers whom I would like to relish every single time with them. I hope that my presence will bring a positive change and a good vibe for my host family.

I do many hobbies in my spare time which really help me to hone my skills like cycling, reading books especialy conservation, watching documentaries about wildlife, camping, gardening and playing puzzles and crosswords game. I would like to play my favorite hobbies with your kids. I will be psyched to do those with them.
