My name is Edmeraldine, but you can call me Jessy. I’m 24 years old and from the Philippines. I graduated with a degree in Psychology, which has given me a strong understanding of child development and communication. More importantly, I have years of hands-on childcare experience and a genuine love for working with children.
My childcare journey began when my sister became a single mother and I stepped in as one of the main caregivers for my niece. From her infancy to her playful toddler years, I cared for her daily—feeding, playing, reading, and supporting her growth. Since then, I’ve also helped raise my younger cousins and tutored children from ages 2 up to teenagers. These experiences taught me patience, responsibility, and the ability to adapt to children’s different needs.
Alongside childcare, I work as an ESL teacher, guiding students from countries such as Turkey, Japan, Korea, China, Russia, and Brazil. This has strengthened my English communication skills and fueled my love for cultural exchange. I enjoy learning about different traditions and languages, which is why the au pair program excites me so much—it combines childcare with the chance to experience a new culture firsthand.
Families and students often describe me as caring, fun, and dependable. I enjoy keeping children engaged through games, arts and crafts, storytelling, and outdoor activities. At the same time, I value routines, safety, and open communication with parents. My goal as an au pair is to be not only a reliable caregiver but also a warm “big sister” figure whom your children can trust, laugh with, and learn from.
