Introduction
My name is Winny, and I am a warm, energetic, and deeply caring young woman from Kenya, writing to introduce myself as a prospective au pair for your family. From the moment I first cared for a child, I knew that nurturing young lives was not just something I could do it was something I was called to do. I bring that same sense of purpose, joy, and dedication to every family I serve.
Growing up in Kenya, I was raised in a close-knit, faith-driven community where children are treasured and family is everything. These values are at the very core of who I am. My Christian faith shapes the way I treat people with kindness, patience, honesty, and unconditional care. You can trust that the values I bring into your home will be ones you are proud to have around your children.
I have hands-on experience in nanny and au pair roles, working primarily with school-age children between 6 and 12 years old. This age group holds a special place in my heart they are curious, full of energy, and at a stage where the right guidance and encouragement can shape their confidence and character for life. I understand how to balance structure with fun, and firmness with gentleness, to create an environment where children feel both safe and inspired.
Here is a little of what I love to do with children:
Cooking together is one of my favorite bonding activities. I enjoy teaching kids simple, healthy recipes in a fun and engaging way that builds their independence and creativity in the kitchen. Whether it is baking cookies or preparing a colorful fruit salad, cooking time is always full of laughter and learning.
When it comes to homework and tutoring, I am patient and methodical. I take time to understand how each child learns best and adapt my approach accordingly. I genuinely celebrate their progress, no matter how small, because I believe every child thrives when they feel seen and supported.
Arts and crafts are a wonderful way for children to express themselves, and I love facilitating that creativity. From drawing and painting to DIY projects, I encourage children to use their imagination freely and take pride in what they create.
I am also an outdoorsy, active person who loves spending time outside. Whether it is a walk in the park, a game of football, or a simple nature scavenger hunt, I believe outdoor play is essential for children’s physical health and emotional wellbeing. I will always make sure the children in my care are active, engaged, and having fun.
Storytelling and reading are deeply important to me. I grew up listening to rich African folktales and bedtime stories that sparked my imagination, and I love passing that gift on. I make reading an adventure using voices, expressions, and questions that keep children engaged and help build their love for books.
I am bilingual, speaking both English and Swahili fluently. While I am not teaching Swahili as a formal lesson, children naturally pick up words and phrases through everyday interaction, which can be a wonderful cultural enrichment for your family.
I am reliable, responsible, and deeply respectful of family boundaries, privacy, and house rules. I understand that inviting an au pair into your home requires enormous trust, and I do not take that lightly. My goal is never just to be a helper I want to be a positive, consistent presence that your children look forward to seeing every day and that you, as parents, can rely on completely.
I am excited about the opportunity to experience a new culture, grow as a person, and contribute meaningfully to your family’s daily life. I am a quick learner, adaptable, and genuinely open to feedback. I believe that the best relationships including the one between an au pair and a host family are built on open communication, mutual respect, and shared values.
If you are looking for someone who will love your children like her own, bring energy and structure into your home, and show up every single day with a heart full of dedication I would love to be that person for your family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my introduction. I look forward to the possibility of connecting with you and learning more about your beautiful family.
With warmth and sincerity,
Winny.
