Dear host family

Hello, I’m Asumi and I am going to introduce myself to you and explain why I would be a great au pair for you and your family.

I was an assistant in a photo studio that mainly shoots newborns (9-14 days old) and a babysitter for my mother's cousin's child (5 years old).
The photo studio also took newborn, maternity, 100 days, half birthday, and family photos.
Before taking a newborn photo, I gave the baby milk and put them to sleep, changed diapers and clothes.

During the shooting, I tried to bring out a natural smile by making them laugh with toys and researched what their children like.

If a child is very shy and cry around new people, I tried to observe the situation and giving them instructions when they calmed down. I enjoyed playing with babies and loved to make them happy.
When the children's mothers and fathers were selecting photos, I also supported them by taking care of them.

As a babysitter, I took care of my mother's cousin's child once a week.
I cooked for him, played in the water outside, went to the park to play, and took a bath. He's 5 years old, so in order to prepare before becoming an elementary school student, I studied a little about how to read alphabet and clocks for about 30 minutes, and how to count numbers.
I have a brother who is 7 years older than me and one nephew who is 7 years old.
I used to feed him and bathe him when he was little. Now when he comes to visit me at home, we ride bikes, go to the park, and play games.

I also like to try different things.
I studied Chinese in Taiwan for about 6 months from April to October 2022.
At first, I couldn't speak Chinese at all, and I had to speak English with my classmates and roommates in the shared house.
I was not confident in my English, but I actively tried to get engage with other students, and through daily communication with everyone, I gradually get better at speaking both Chinese and English.
There were many people interested in Japanese, so I also taught Japanese to my Korean friends.

I lived in a shared house, I was in charge of cleaning and taking out the trash, and on my days off, I often exchanged information about delivery at home with everyone.
After school and on holidays, I went out to take pictures of various places in Taiwan by myself, went hiking and walking with my friends, gathered friends of friends, etc. I tried to go out as much as possible and communicate with local Taiwanese people.
I have also been to many places around the world, including Korea, Taiwan, France, and England, and have experienced many different cultures and experiences that can only be had in those places.

Also, my parents taught me from a young age that they wanted me to be able to do things on my own.
Of course, they supported me when I needed help, but they also told me that I am responsible for everything, so I have always taken responsibility for what I do and what I want to do, and I have always worked on it until the end.

So I also babysat with the mindset that I would gently watch over the things my children wanted to do or were interested in, and if they needed help, I would support them to the best of my ability.

I also love traveling to different places, interacting with new people, and discovering new things, so I thought it would be a great program to stay with an American family and experience the American lifestyle, culture, language, and food habits, which are different from those in Japan while taking care of their adorable children.

As a Japanese, I can also teach children about the charms of Japan through Japanese culture and language.
