Dear host family,
My name is Giulia, I am 25 and I’m from Italy. I am a positive, reliable and caring person, and I really enjoy spending time with children and being part of their daily routine.
I studied at a high school focused on human sciences, with subjects such as psychology and pedagogy, and later I completed a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a Master’s degree in Industrial Biotechnology. I have recently finished a one-year internship at the National Cancer Institute in Milan.
Alongside my studies, I have always worked with children. Since the beginning of university, I have been giving private lessons to students from primary school to high school (ages 6 to 19), and in some cases I also worked as a babysitter. I enjoy helping children learn, supporting them with homework and creating a calm and positive environment for them.
I am about to start an online Master’s program in preclinical and clinical drug development. Since the lessons are online and flexible, I will have plenty of time to dedicate to my au pair experience and to the family. One of my main motivations for becoming an au pair is to improve my English and fully immerse myself in a new culture and country.
In my free time I love being active: I enjoy running and going to the gym, and I practiced dance for many years when I was younger. I also love cooking and baking, especially preparing desserts, which for me is a way to take care of the people I love. I am an animal lover, especially dogs.
I see the au pair experience as a cultural exchange and a personal challenge. I am excited about the idea of becoming part of a family, helping with the children and daily life, and sharing moments together while learning from each other.
