My name is Shofia, I'm from Indonesia and I'm 20 years old. My mother language is Indonesia and I can also speak English, I have been learning English since elementary school and I still practice it every day, I'm also very eager to learn French and German and of course other languages as well.
I would describe myself as an open minded, cheerful, reliable, creative, loyal and caring, I can be shy at first but once I warm up to you I will not be shy, I'm more soft spoken so you will not have to worry about me being too loud, I'm very responsible and organized, I'm a very outgoing person, very patient, kind and honest, I love to talk and I love being around the people I love.
About my hobbies, I do have a lot of them, I love cooking and baking, my family loves my cooking such as cookies, pies, brownies, dumplings soup, vegetable soup, fried chicken and other local Asian food, I also like reading books, most of the books I read are self improvement books and poetry, I love listening to music, watching movies, jogging and bicycling, spend time in nature, learning about new things and in my free time I like go out with my family and friends.
I have a lot of experience in taking care of children because I helped raise my 3 sisters aged 17, 10 & 4 years old, besides that I also helped take care of my 2 years old nephew. I usually take and pick up my sisters to school and help them do their homework and in my free time I usually go out with them, go shopping, eat delicious foods then take them to playing at the play center, and sometimes I also teach them how to cook simple foods. I also often babysit my 4 year old sister and my nephew when my brother leaves him at our house, I regularly prepare their meals, bathe them and I usually accompany them to watching TV, singing and dancing, teach them to writing and drawing, and in the afternoon I take them to play in the yard with the cats and take a walk around the neighborhood. I love them all so much because they are my forever best friends. They were all part of an amazing experience for me because I learn to understand and know the interests of children and teenagers.
I also had an internship experience at a kindergarten for one month when I was in school, it was one of the best programs my school had and I'm so glad I did it cause being around the kids are so joyful to me, I get along well with kids and this exchange is my big dream.
Becoming an au pair sounds like a great opportunity to get out of my comfort zone on a new adventure and meet new people from a new country. I want to have new experiences out of my bubble and my home country. I always had a dream about living in Europe, to experience the culture, learn about new languages and meet new amazing people and places.
