Dear Host Family,
Let me introduce myself! My name is Janice, an 18-year-old girl from Indonesia. I’m so excited to write to you because I have a natural affinity for taking care of children and I truly enjoy spending time with them. I hope my photos show you how much joy kids bring into my life!

As the eldest daughter in my family, I have always been like a second mom to my younger brother. My parents rely on me a lot to watch over him, help with his daily needs, and support him in everything. I also often take care of my cousin. My aunt drops her off at our house from time to time so I can watch and entertain them. I really enjoy helping both my brother and cousin with their homework. I sit with them patiently and guide them through their lessons with love and encouragement.

I have basic medical knowledge, especially about common medicines, what to take for certain symptoms, and proper dosages. This comes from my grandma who studied pharmacy. One special moment that I will never forget happened at school. A friend took a candid photo of me when I noticed a little boy who looked sad and low on energy. I immediately went to him, asked what was wrong, and found out he had a stomach ache. I carried him on my back to the school infirmary, helped him lie down, and gently massaged his tummy with aromatherapy oil until he felt better. Seeing him more comfortable made my heart so happy.

I’m confident in caring for others when they’re sick. For example, when my mom isn’t feeling well, I take good care of her by using traditional coining therapy for colds, waking up in the middle of the night to bring her medicine if she has stomach pain, and gently comforting her while she’s wailing in discomfort until she feels better.

Kids are naturally drawn to me! They often come up to me at the mall, when I’m playing basketball in my home complex with the neighbor kids, or in many other places. I feel so lucky that children feel comfortable and happy around me. I also love animals, especially since i have cats and an experience in raising them since they were 3 months old. I’ve taken care of them when they’re sick by giving them medicine, bathing them, and cleaning their litter box with full responsibility and affection.

At home, I help my parents with household chores to keep everything clean and fresh. I believe a tidy house creates a much more comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. As an Au Pair, I would gladly help with light household tasks such as tidying up, washing dishes, dusting, and keeping the children’s areas organized.

In my free time, I love baking delicious treats and playing the guitar. I’m a very curious person who enjoys learning new things every day. That’s why becoming an au pair feels so exciting for me! I really love to travel, experience new cultures, and to become a part of a warm and loving family. I’m an easy person to talk to and I become really talkative and cheerful once I get to know you. I value open communication, mutual respect, and personal boundaries very much.

I am honest, caring, open-minded, and always willing to learn. My mother tongue is Bahasa Indonesia, but I’m very fluent in English because I’ve been speaking it with my friends since kindergarten. I speak basic mandarin too. And I love learning new languages!

I can take care of my plane tickets and visa myself, but I would really appreciate any kind help from you. I’m hoping to find a family who will welcome me warmly and feel happy having me around, just as I will feel so grateful and excited to join your family.
