Dear Future Host Family,
Hi! My name is Jesslyn. I'm 22 years old and I'm from Indonesia. I'm currently in my final year of studying Public Health.
A little about me, i'm someone who is a bit quiet when i first meet new people. But once i feel comfortable, i become much more talkative and love to laugh. I adapt easily, enjoy learning new things, and i'm always open to new experiences.
One of the biggest reasons i want to become an au pair is because i've always wanted to experience living in another country, not just as a tourist but as part of everyday life. I think living with a host family is a special way to learn about a different culture, and i'm excited to learn the local language too.
I also enjoy spending time with children. I often look after my two nephews, who are 3 and 4 years old. We spend a lot of time playing games, reading stories, drawing, or simply being silly together. I help with their meals, bath time, and bedtime routine whenever needed. I also used to volunteer in my church's children's ministry, and now i serve in a prayer fellowship for pre teens and teenagers. Spending time with children has taught me to be patient, calm, and flexible because every child is different.
At home, helping with household chores has always been a normal part of my daily life, so i'm happy to help wherever i can. I also have a driver's license and i'm comfortable driving if it's needed. And if your family has a dog, that's definitely a bonus because i'm a big dog lover! I have two dogs at home, and they've been part of our family for about six years.
When i'm not studying, i like singing, watching movies, playing badminton, traveling whenever i get the chance, and spending time with my family and friends.
After my au pair year, i plan to return to Indonesia and start my career in Public Health, although i'm still open to future opportunities abroad. More than anything, i hope i can be someone your children feel comfortable around, someone they can trust, laugh with, and see as an older sister. I hope i can also make your daily routine a little easier while becoming part of your family for a while.
