My name is Ratna, but people usually call me Ratna. I studied at a state university in Indonesia, majoring in Sports Coaching Education. During my studies, I not only focused on academics but also worked. This experience taught me many valuable lessons, especially how to take on part of a parental role in educating children. I worked as a karate coach as well as a swimming coach for both children and adults. Through this experience, I learned how to be patient, to understand each child’s unique character, and to guide them in a positive way. My work and internships during university also strengthened my enthusiasm for contributing to children’s growth, both physically, mentally, and emotionally.

For me, children are a true source of inspiration. Even when I feel tired, meeting my students always restores my energy. Their funny and spontaneous behavior, along with their unexpected questions, often makes me smile, even though at times I have to think carefully to give them the right answers. From these experiences, I have learned that educating children is not only about teaching skills but also about giving them attention, care, and being a good listener.

I want to become an Au Pair because I truly enjoy spending time with children and supporting their growth, both emotionally and intellectually. I also see this experience as a valuable opportunity to improve my English, while learning a new culture and language in the host country. For me, being an Au Pair is not only about meeting children’s daily needs, but also about creating a positive and supportive environment where they can develop and grow into their personality.

I am a responsible, adaptable, and open-minded person who respects family values and cultural differences. I am eager to learn from new experiences while also sharing my own traditions. I understand that living in another country requires flexibility, patience, and strong communication skills.
