Hello. My name is Dewi. I have 5 years of experience as a kindergarten teacher and am currently a Grade 1 homeroom teacher. I hold a PGSD (Primary School Teacher Education) degree, which fuels my passion for working with children and provides me with a solid understanding of child development.
Since I am a teacher, I know how to teach children in an interactive and engaging way. For 5 years, I taught 3–4-year-old children. During my first year of teaching, I had 18 students who were new to school, so I had to be patient, especially since many of them cried on the first day. I also had to be creative to ensure that they could learn effectively, as young learners have a short attention span.
For one year, I taught 4–5-year-old students, managing a class of 22 children. I held meetings with their parents because some students were very active and sometimes engaged in behaviors that needed guidance. I enjoyed discussing these matters with parents to find solutions and support the children’s learning and development.
Currently, I teach Grade 1. They are able to express their opinions and ask questions, which makes teaching them both interesting and engaging. It is also challenging because they sometimes ask critical questions that require me to learn and research further.
I have a dream of going abroad and working there. This is very challenging for me because it is expensive, and even after working, I still couldn't afford it. So, I decided to look for job opportunities here and there. I learned about the Au Pair program three years ago and even tried to learn German because I wanted to go there, but my parents disagreed. Now, I am trying to create opportunities for myself by working as a live-in nanny with a family. I look forward to contributing my best while working with you.
