Hello, my name is Dewi and I'm 22 years old. I am a passionate and enthusiastic individual who loves learning new things. I am known for being friendly, helpful to others, and greatly enjoying activities that involve creativity, which helps me grow and discover new ways to express myself. Additionally, my experience of studying for four years in a city different from my hometown has shaped me into an independent person while also broadening my understanding of the diverse cultures in various regions of Indonesia.
I am a university student majoring in agriculture, currently completing my research for graduation. During my studies in the agriculture department, particularly in plant protection, I have learned a great deal about plants and insects. Additionally, I have developed skills in using a microscope to observe microbes.
I am the only child of a dedicated couple. My father is both a farmer and a trader, who serves his customers with great hospitality, ensuring their needs are met. Meanwhile, my mother is an extraordinary homemaker. Her skills in preparing delicious meals have inspired me to learn many things about cooking from her. Additionally, my family emphasizes the importance of manners and cleanliness at home—values that I continue to uphold in my daily life.

I am a caring and responsible person who enjoys interacting with children. I am actively involved in various volunteer activities, such as working at orphanages, nursing homes, and foundations for street children. Through these experiences, I have learned empathy, patience, and the importance of social awareness. These experiences have shaped me into a compassionate, adaptable individual who is ready to be a supportive and reliable companion for children in a host family.

I have a lot of experience taking care of children because I have many nieces and nephews under the age of 10. They often stay over at my house, and we engage in various activities together. From playing, learning, eating, bathing, to taking afternoon naps, I am the one who organizes and schedules everything in a structured way. I also frequently help them solve problems calmly and efficiently, such as when they feel upset or have issues with their schedules. I often assist in bathing my younger nieces and nephews, a skill I learned from my mother and cousin, who is a midwife at the hospital.
In addition to taking care of my nieces and nephews, from December 2023 to January 2024, I participated in a campus activity that required me to engage directly with the community. One of the activities I was involved in, and contributed to significantly, was teaching at a kindergarten. At the kindergarten, I assisted the teachers in introducing letters, numbers, and coloring pictures according to the day's lesson plan. I also helped them with their lunch. As part of this campus activity, I also participated in measuring the children's height and weight during routine monthly health check-ups for toddlers.

My motivation for joining the au pair program is to become more independent than I am now. Since I have a great interest in learning about new cultures, I am very eager to learn more about the culture, language, and customs of your country. I also want to make friends from various countries around the world because I really enjoy making friends, and this will allow me to get to know cultures from other countries.
In addition, I want to improve my skills in childcare, from how to provide creative activities for children to how to solve the problems they face. I am also interested in this program because I plan to continue my education in a field related to children's health. This further strengthens my desire to become an au pair.
